Kate Hudson has revealed her mum, Goldie Hawn, was right there with her when she gave birth to her three children, so much so that she was a little bit too close for comfort at times.

The Almost Famous actor, 43, says that her mother takes a keen interest in her daughter's life and was there to watch her grandchildren enter the world.

But turns out, Hawn, 76, didn't just hold her daughter's hand and share words of support, instead she took a far more, er, intimate role.

“She likes to be very involved in my life,” Hudson, who was appearing on this week’s Graham Norton Show, explained. “So much so that she came to the births of my children.”

“She just had to be there and was like right in my vagina with headlight reading glasses on! It was like out of a comedy!

“But as funny as it was, it was also this unbelievably emotional experience for both of us.”

Hudson, who was on the BBC chat show to promote the second Knives Out movie Glass Onion, also revealed that cast were only allowed to watch the finished film alongside an audience.

“I really can’t tell you much about it because it’s a mystery, but it was so much fun to do and my character Birdy was fabulous to play," she told host Norton. "The cast is wonderful and Daniel (Craig) was great fun to watch.

“We weren’t allowed to see the movie except with an audience, which I’ve never done before and it caused lots of sweating and a headache, but when I did see it with so many people it was just raucous and a great party. It was cool,” she added.

Hudson isn't the only celebrity to welcome other family members into the labour room while giving birth.

Earlier this year, reality TV star Sam Faiers, welcomed her third child, and shared a sweet video announcing her son's arrival, which featured a sweet clip of her daughter, Rosie, then four, holding her mum's hand in labour.

And back in 2016, Jamie Oliver hit headlines after revealing that his two eldest daughters, Poppy Honey and Daisy Boo, then 14 and 12, had been there to witness their baby brother River Rocket being born.

The TV chef described the event as “amazing to witness, very very emotional” while his wife explained that their daughters had cut the cord.

In an interview with Good Housekeeping magazine, Oliver later said he was surprised at the controversy, saying only "strange" people could find it odd.

He said: "Most of the world has home births, and different countries have different habits. It's only controversial to really strange people.

"It was an idea from mum and the kids, and we gave it lots of thought. As soon as the baby was out and safe, we got the nod - Poppy cut the umbilical cord!"

Oliver said it was "extraordinary" to see his daughters watching the delivery.

"It was the right age for them, the right scenario for us, and I witnessed their initial raw emotion as the little one was handed to them," he said.

"I know they respect their mum now even more than they already did. It was an amazing show of strength."

Earlier this year Hudson teamed up with her mother for a new shoe campaign with fans celebrating the mother-daughter collaboration.

Back in March the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star shared a photo to Instagram of herself posing with Hawn in a new campaign for Stuart Weitzman.

"Guess who joined me for my new Stuart Weitzman campaign! Hi mama! Love every moment with you, including this love of shoes moment," the actor captioned the photo.

Hudson said the Live Every Moment Campaign was created to celebrate "life's everyday moments and we gotta appreciate them all."

If “bull markets are born on pessimism,” as the late, great investor Sir John Templeton famously said, it be would be hard to find anywhere plunged deeper into broad-based pessimism, or even outright despair, as British markets right now.
