ASTORIA, QUEENS — An elderly woman shopping at an Astoria pharmacy was pickpocketed by two men, including one who has only one leg, according to police.

The 86-year-old woman was inside the Duane Reade on Broadway and 35th Street on Oct. 7 around 1 p.m., when the two men approached her, police said.

Without her knowledge, the man with one leg swiped the woman's wallet from her pocketbook, making off with $40 in cash and an iPhone, police said.

The second man covered his accomplice's actions from public view, according to police. Both suspects left the pharmacy to parts unknown, police said.

The man with one leg used crutches, and is described as having short brown hair and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored t-shirt with a white graphic on the front, a light-colored camouflage hoodie, blue jeans, and white sneakers, police said.

The second man had short, dark hair and a stocky build, police say. He was wearing a light-colored sweatshirt, blue jeans, a Puma baseball cap, black sneakers and a dark-colored jacket, wearing eyeglasses, according to police.

Police on Friday released surveillance footage showing both men walking along Broadway near 32nd Street, and asked anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
