Follow in the footsteps of the glitterati
Anna Wintour; Lil Uzi Vert; Kim Kardashian; Jaylen Brown; Lisa Rinna; Steve Lacy; Quavo. These are just a handful of the manifold famous names who’ve recently been spotted sporting a pair of Yeezy Shades (AKA YZYSHDZ) designed by Ye (AKA Kanye), Mowalola and co. Initially thought to be released under the Yeezy Gap collaboration – a presumption based on the fact that those donning the accessory are otherwise clad in pieces born from the alliance – it appears the wraparound sunglasses now mark the first offering from Ye’s going-it-alone label 'Yeezy' in light of his public fallout with the American retailer.

In case you’re not abreast of Ye’s latest dramas, the rapper-cum-designer is currently taking legal action to terminate his deal with Gap as he believes the corporation is copying his designs to entice consumers to buy from its mainline. Additionally, he argues the retailer is failing to deliver on its promises. For instance, Gap apparently assured Ye that 40% of the Yeezy Gap line would be sold in brick-and-mortar stores, and that they would open five Yeezy stores prior to August 2023.
Yeezy Gap or not, we’re still eager to get our hands on the futuristic specs, and we're sure you are too. But how? All we know right now is that joining the Yeezy Shades waitlist is as easy as heading over to Ye’s rather uncanny website, yeezy.com, and entering your email where prompted.
Oh, and don't bother saving up: according to Forbes' recent interview with the man himself, the shades will cost just $20 – a price justifiable even within a cost of living crisis.
