A selection of discounted items during Amazon's Prime Early Access Sale on Oct. 11, 2022.
Amazon's October Prime Day (formally the Prime Early Access Sale) chugs along into its second day, with many of the best deals still going strong. The new, two-day event is pretty much the same as past Prime Days, just a little later in the calendar. For you, that means thousands of deals on everything from a $10 milk frother all the way up to a $1,225 Original Peloton bike. There are many ways to save.
To save you time and money, SFGATE is sifting through all the deals out there to find the ones worth your attention and dollars. This post will be continually updated through the end of the Prime Early Access Sale, so keep checking back for the latest deals as they go live.
This Amazon Fire TV 55" Omni Series 4K UHD smart TV. deal went live at 9 a.m. EST. The TV was selling for $109.99, but it sold out in under two minutes.
A screenshot of the Lightning Deal on the Amazon Fire TV 55" Omni Series 4K TV for $109.99, taken at 9 a.m. EST. The deal was 100% claimed within two minutes.
That's even faster than the similar deal in July; that Lightning Deal on a $100 TV sold out in about five minutes.
It wouldn't be Prime Day without an instantaneous sellout TV: Back in July's Prime Day, a 50-inch, Amazon Fire 4K TV that normally sells for $349 was marked down to $99.99 and was gone within minutes. Not to be outdone...by itself...Amazon has had plenty of TV deals going so far, but odds are on this 55-inch TV being the one to watch:

It's not a lock, but prepare for this TV to be heavily discounted at 8 a.m. EST/5 a.m. PST, based on the countdown captured here:
A screenshot of the TV section of Amazon's Prime Early Access Sale, showing a countdown for this deal at 7:32 a.m. EST.
If and when that TV deal goes live, some sleuthing has suggested the TV will go for $112. If that's the case, it'll also sell out in under five minutes. The best advice: Keep a tab with this TV landing page open and refresh as 8 a.m. approaches. If it's not on sale yet, check back around 9 a.m. EST. If it is on sale, then you've got the path to snagging the best deal of the sale.
If you're in the market for a new mattress, the Casper Sleep Element Mattress is starting out at just under $400 for a twin mattress. Of course, most adults probably don't need a twin mattress for themselves (though this is a great deal for a kid's bedroom). You can get the queen-size mattress for $516 (about $130 off retail).
The first day of this October Prime Day didn't wipe out stock on Peloton, so if you haven't snagged a discount on this cult-favorite bike yet, you still have a chance. It is marked down by $220 for the Prime Early Access Sale and a number of other Peloton accessories and products are also on sale for between 15 to 25% off.
Keurig's K-Mini Coffee Maker is the brand's best-selling product and a #1 best seller on Amazon. You can snag it for 50% right now, which is the best price this product has ever been.
As we previously mentioned, Apple products aren’t usually advertised as on sale during Prime Day events, but that’s certainly changed with the Prime Early Access Sale.
The 9th Generation iPad (from 2021) is marked down to its lowest price ever on Amazon, starting at just $269 (18% off) for a 10.2” model with 64GB. You can also get a brand-new 2022 iPad Air starting at just $519 (13% off).
For the first day of Prime Day, the new AirPods Pro was 6% off but that just jumped to 10%. Obviously, 10% isn’t the biggest discount, but this is a new all-time-low price for the new AirPods Pro model, clocking in at $223.
If AirPods aren't quite you're thing, but you want functional and stylish headphones, look no further than all the Beats wireless headphones that are between 20% and 51% off. That includes:
The big selling point, of course, is that all of these models are at their lowest prices ever on Amazon. Combine that with free two-day shipping, and you've got yourself a deal.
Few accessories are as timeless as Ray-Ban sunglasses, so today is a good day if you're looking for new shades. Dozens of Ray-Ban styles are marked down by 25% during Prime Early Access Sale, including Wayfarers and Classic Aviators. The other good thing: multiple colors are marked down in each design, so you won't have to compromise on style for the sake of saving a few bucks.
Whether you opt for the 2020 model with or without AppleCare+, the MacBook Air deal during Prime Day will save you $200. Amazon doesn't usually advertise Apple deals quite so heavily, but this one is front and center, and it's the lowest price this MacBook Air has ever been on Amazon. Suffice it to say, if you want a MacBook without sacrificing on performance or destroying your wallet, this is a good time to buy.
In the event you didn't buy anything on day one of the Prime Early Access Sale, you've still got almost 24 hours to take advantage of this gift card deal. Assuming you're eligible (not everyone is), you'll get a $10 credit for buying a $50 Amazon gift card by using the promo code NEWGC2022 at checkout.
You'll find similar offers on gift cards (like $15 if you buy a $100 DoorDash gift card with promo code DASH22) from a few other retailers during this Prime sale, but buying the Amazon one is simplest, since you can just spend the $50 gift card instantly on anything else you plan to buy during the sale, and you'll get a $10 credit to your account within two days.
"Cheap AirPods" used to be synonymous with "sold out" on Prime Day and Black Friday. But not so on Prime Early Access Sale: The ubiquitous in-ear headphones are still going for $89.99 on day two of this sale.
If you absolutely must have the latest technology, then perhaps the newest AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) will do it for you: They're marked down to $234.99, the first markdown they've seen since their release in September.
